Chaos Renegade Militia - The main progress of the army.

Well, it's been a long time. I've been busy as usual. I never fail to get busy with the shop everyday. But at least I've been painting quite furiously the past few days. Apart from commission works, I've been working on the Chaos Renegades Militia. Let's let the pictures do the talking.

I've started to repaint the one on the left to be like the one on the right.

I'll post up more as I get more done. iHasta luego! (Can't find the upside down exclamation mark.)

One short break.

I'm just taking a few days off the hobby table just so I can get the business sorted out. Not to mention, I've begun to get really busy with all the stock management, pricing and the likes. (I shouldn't forget, I have to deal with Anthropology this semester.)

I just put this guy on the base just for fun, he looks real funny. Obviously I'm didn't glue him to the base or I will definitely be posing like him at the end of the day.

Terrain - Temple of Skulls.

For the past few weeks I've been very busy as usual, but nothing is gonna stop me from painting! After I got saturated with my commission work, I've decided to take a break from painting rank and file models to painting terrain.

Looking at the fact that Hobby Forge do need more terrain for the 4 gaming tables, there's no doubt that I've got to buck up on painting more terrain.

I hereby present you, da Temple of Skulls!!! Really huge and cheap terrain piece and I find it the most interesting terrain to paint out of all that I've painted.

I'm loving this part here. The pool of blood.

Using some sponging techniques, I made it look as if some victim was dragged up the steps whilst still bleeding.

I've added the grass to break the monotone colour of the terrain piece and I can say it's very effective.

The blood splatter was really fun to do. It somehow looks very convincing and real. I might make a tutorial on how to make blood splatter sometime later.

There you have it. Get one and start making some sacrifices! :D

I really got to get a proper camera, it doesn't look as good since it's very yellowish. Haha.

Chaos Renegade Militia - Slowly progressing.

Not bad, I've been so busy that I've forgotten to update my blog. Haha. But at least I'm still posting interesting stuff for you guys to see.

Recently I've been assembling and converting the Imperial Guard Valkyries to the Chaos Renegade Militia Vendettas. And I can say, it's a lot of fun. Adding spikes sure makes it look more Chaos!

I used my razor saw to carefully remove the gas tanks from these guys so they can sit in the pilot place of the Vendettas. It was a task that really required lots of focus, and the end result is amazing.

The first Vendetta I made.

Second Vendetta with a little repositioning of the spikes.

I've also managed to build an Executioner/Demolisher. Why Executioner/Demolisher? I've magnetized it.

Plasma crazed Renegade!

I won't be painting my tanks till I get my paints and supplies to ensure I can do a good job to justify these tanks. So I'll just focus on finishing my commission work.

Chaos Renegade Militia - Chaos Vendetta

I've been so busy that I've neglected my blog lately. Real sorry about that. I might be a little more free once I get the shop to be less dependant on me, but it's very obvious it's not possible.

Anyways, I'm currently working on adding the spikes and preparing the crew for the Vendetta. This model is quite challenging to assemble and I can easily say that it's the biggest miniature I own.

I haven't glued the stuff on the base yet. Just gonna rearrange it a little to make a shooting scene on the base. Since it's such a wide base, I might as well make full use of it.

Hobby Forge - Grand Opening Event

If you're in Malaysia, do check this out. As the owner of one of the local game stores here in Malaysia, I'm running the Grand Opening Event.

After considering all the factors of when we can have the Grand Opening this month, apparently the 22nd of May which is a Saturday is the best time. Not to mention, the stocks are still in transit due to the backlog from the Icelandic volcano ash cloud incident.

Here are the events that will be held at Hobby Forge.
The shop will be opened from 11am onwards till 7pm.

Apocalypse: Imperium VS Chaos. 5 players per side.

Requirements: WYSIWYG, Fully Painted and Based.

Time starting 12:30pm. Players should be here on time to discuss their tactics and set up the deployment table and start the game by 12:30pm.

Game ends at 5:30pm. 5 hours game length.

As a player, you are allowed to bring up to two different armies of the same side. Meaning, if you have a Chaos Daemons army and a Chaos Space Marines army, feel free to play on the side of Chaos with both armies. Also, if you have an Imperial Guard army and a Space Marine or an Inquisition army, feel free to bring them as well. We're gonna make the battle look awesome!

The game will be played on a 6 x 12 table in the main gaming room. Minimal terrain will be used since you will need space for your minis.

I have to let you know, it will be quite taxing for your part as a player to bring two armies if you choose to do so.

Please let me know who is joining the Apocalypse game and please nominate a leader among yourselves.

Open gaming.

There will be 1 table for normal gaming. Be it 40k, BFG or Fantasy, you're welcome to bring your army to play with the casual gamers that will be there.

Lucky draw.

Assuming my shipment will arrive before the date I've set above, we will have a lucky draw.

To join the lucky draw, just visit the shop, purchase something GW related RM 100 and above and have your name put into the drawing lot. As long as you reach RM 100 you can join for the lucky draw.

Grand Prize is: RM 100 store credit
Second Prize is: RM 50 store credit
Third Prize is: RM 30 store credit
There will be 3 consolation prizes at RM 10 store credit that will be given away at the same day too.

The lucky draw will take start at 6pm. Participants who have their names in the drawing lot are advised to be there when the drawing happens.

To be fair to everyone, only 1 person can win a prize and only 1 person will be able to put their name in once. Meaning, even if you purchase RM 1,000 worth of stuff you still get to have 1 entry in the lucky draw.

Free lunch.

Yep, there will be lunch provided for everyone who visits. I will get the caterer to bring the food by 1pm so the food can last us for a few hours. Haha.

For all the events above, I personally won't be taking part in it as I'm the organizer and I'm supposed to man the shop and keep people entertained.

Do let me know if you plan to drop by and which army you plan to bring!

You may discuss in here:

Overloaded with projects.

I've been really busy for the past few weeks! I've got commission work to do, luckily one of my clients dropped a full army project or I don't think I will have time to even blog.

These are the Daemonettes for his Chaos Daemons army. I'm making it a dual 40k and Fantasy army. Obviously they are not done yet.

I'm also working on my Chaos Renegade Militia. Finally got some tanks up.

I've also started work on some of my Dark Elf characters. Really love these Avatars of War miniatures.

This is the sorceress from Avatars of War.

This is also another commission work from another client, luckily I don't have to paint his entire Dark Elf army, or I will have 2 Dark Elf armies to paint. I'm almost done with this Supreme Sorceress.

Don't forget, I also have to paint the terrain for the shop. I'm really churning out a lot of time to make sure the terrain for the shop is looking good. Especially when I have to make sure I have enough terrain for more than 4 tables, because players want to switch out terrain every once in a while.

Hope I can rush these things up as fast as possible!

Possessed Warhammer 40,000

Guys, it must be possessed by you before you can use this book.

Just spent a lot of time working on many different projects, taking a break while looking through the Imperial Guard Codex. I'll be updating soon on my progress of the Chaos Renegade Militia and the tank that I'm working on...

Chaos Renegade Militia - The army list.

I've spent lots of time tinkering with this list over and over and over again. I suppose it's now time to ask the readers (you guys) what do you think of this 2,000 point list. I've got some friends who are well into Imperial Guard Tactics to teach me

I've got no interest to spam 100+ men especially when I'm dealing with Forge World upgrades. So I'm keeping it to a really powerful mech list.

Company Command Squad (1+4) with Astropath and Officer of the Fleet. All with camo cloaks. 2 Veterans with sniper rifles. Vox Caster. Regimental Standard.

Storm Trooper Squad (1+4) with 2 Meltas
105 points

Veteran Squad (1+9) with 3 meltaguns and Vox Caster. [In the Vendetta]
105 points

Veteran Squad (1+9) with 3 plasma guns and Vox Caster. Grenadiers. [In the Vendetta]
150 points

Veteran Squad (1+9) with 3 Sniper Rifles and Lascannon team with Vox Caster.

Fast Attack
Scout Sentinel Squadron (3)
105 points

Vandetta Gunship Squadron (2)
260 points

Bane Wolf (2) with heavy flamer and multimelta (both)
290 points

Heavy Support
Manticore Rocket Launcher with heavy flamer and pintle mounted heavy stubber.
170 points

Leman Russ Executioner with plasma cannon sponsons and heavy flamer
230 points

Leman Russ Demolisher with heavy flamer
Leman Russ Battle Tank with heavy flamer

Total: 2000 points

Can somebody enlighten me on why I should actually take the Bane Wolf or a Hell Hound? If you do have any suggestions, I'm open to listening, but I would also want to test play this army some time soon before I commit to buying everything.

Chaos Renegade Militia - Chaos Sentinel

I spend a few hours doing converting this sentinel. I wasn't happy with the driver, so I sawed the body off and replaced with the militia part from Forge World. I haven't glued most of the parts yet for painting purposes.

I'm really happy with the model, especially the base.

Won't be painting this any time soon as I'm awaiting for my paints to arrive...

The Secret Army I'm building - The Dark Elves...

I've always been wanting to start a Fantasy army since 2008. After knowing that there aren't many Fantasy players, I've put the idea on hold. Last year, I started to hype up some of my friends to start some Fantasy armies. It worked. So I chose the Dark Elves.

I've painted 20 Warriors, 19 Corsairs (pictures later) and Lokhir Fellheart in like 20 days. That's quite some speed. But looking at the fact that I'm quite busy with the shop, I'm slowing down a little. Gotta do my commission painting and paint off the terrain for the shop.

This is my first regiment of Dark Elf Spearmen.

The freehand was really easy to achieve.

I've glued 5 of them in a row just to give them a cinematic feel when you see them from the back, as if they're really standing on snowy ground compared to bases.

I painted Lokhir Fellheart in like 5 hours including the basing. Real easy model, but fun nevertheless.

I hope I have more time this week to paint up my Druuchi as I'm so involved in the Fantasy campaign organised by Joe. So much fun! :D
