The Dark Eldar will KILL!!!

Yessss... I've been painting quite a bit throughout the pass few months, obviously I've been playing more than painting judging from my progress.

Also, I'm planning to use this 1,500 point army in the next Legio Malaysia tournament in December. Frankly speaking, I got a little sick and tired painting Blood Angels, and with the new changes to 6th Ed, I'll need to add in more units for them.

Which is why I decided to bring these guys back to the table. Here's my 1,500 point list.

The ones in red are not assembled while the ones in yellow are currently work in progress. As you can see, it's still a lot of work! Not only that, assuming if Duke Sliscus doesn't get a miniature in time, I'll probably have to use an Archon as a stand in.

These are some of the ones I've painted.

I'll definitely be painting more than this list, I just like the look of the army, they're just so evil! I'll probably add in 10 more Reaver Jetbikes in a 1,750 point list, but not yet, since I'm currently quite into 1,500 and there's quite a lot to paint already.

I also need to pay more attention to playing 6th Edition correctly, and from what I've observed, a 1,500 point game is just nice, in terms of timing and deployment, not forgetting to mention, a lot easier and faster to play and learn 6th Ed.

A 1,750 point game will be for the ones who would like to bring more. Who doesn't like to bring more right?

I might even consider playing 1,500 points for a bit before I transition back to 1,750. Especially when lots of the guys are playing at 1,500 to practice for the tournament.

Till then!

Lots of hobby done over the week.

Yup, I've been hobbying like a mad man. Been painting my Sanguinary Priest, Furioso Dreadnought, and the Baal Predator which I managed to finish.

I magnetized the doors with the sponsons since it gives me a good option of saving points and it makes it easier to transport it.

I was also assembling the Chaos Decimator Daemon Engine. I started assembling this from 12 in the noon till 5:30am. Give and take a few hours for lunch and dinner. It was really difficult to assemble as the pose is influenced by the multiple joints and funny angles.

Got around airbrushing it with Gunmetal and highlighting it with Chrome Silver. Both are Tamiya paints of course.

Just a nice size comparison of the Decimator and a Dreadnought.

I'll be focusing solely on Flames of War this week. Gotta get everything done at least a few days before Bagration begins.

Lots of painting done in a week.

The past few weeks have been really busy for me. Getting a lot of things done for my shop and planning for War Without End, was also busy finishing all my assignments and exams for now too.

For no apparent reason, I dug out my Assault Squad to be painted. Even though I'm not using this squad in any games, I just painted them for fun when I was over at Yip's place for painting night. I made it a point that I WILL paint my Blood Angels when I'm there, whether or not I will use the unit. Even so, I painted these in less than 4 days.

I got a feeling that my bottle of Satin Varnish is going bad or something, it gave my squad a dusty frosted look. So I fixed it by airbrushing the usual GW Gloss Varnish and got the colour and shine I wanted.

I was also working on this little armoured car.

And the rest of the Firestorm Troops for Bagration and the rest of my German army to be repainted. I aim to finish these in the 2 weeks that I am free.

But I don't know why I'm so inclined to work on my Blood Angels. Maybe it's just an obsession or something. Even now, I got exactly 3,305 points painted and I've got another 3,000 points or so in line. No rest for the crazies! Gotta finish what I started.

More progress in a day than in a week.

Yup, the title really sums it up real good.

With only 1/3 of my assignments done, I managed to get what I greatly needed to finish, finished.

Funny part is that ever since my compressor was busted, lots of my painting progress came to a halt. I should really hunt for one soon.

Thanks to the much needed Hobby Night over at Legio, I finished all my airbrushing needs, temporarily.

You can see how the night went with this link:

Here are some pictures of mine.

I'm doing my best not to distract myself too much by painting my Eldar or Tyranids and I'll definitely want to finish my Blood Angels for Kindred 3 which will be happening in a few months time.

More Blood Angels.

For the past few weeks it has been assignment deadline week, which is why I was quite busy with my academic life for awhile. But nevertheless, I got to finish Lemartes, which took me about 2 nights to finish him.

I've started on a different part of the Blood Angels. And I definitely would want to finish these guys as an addition to my army.

It looks like I'll be quite busy until next week at least before I can focus more on painting my army.

Done with the Troops.

I've only got Astorath, Lemartes, and 2 more Stormravens to go before I call it done with the army. Though I might want to do a few variations to the army and see how it works, I might need to paint more guys too.

On a hobby roll.

I managed to finish at least 8 guys in the past 2 days. Given that I only get to paint at night these days and they're really difficult to finish, I'm quite happy with my pace.

These guys have too much detail, as much as I would love to paint the details, painting them really takes up your time. I've only got 4 more guys to paint before I can move on to painting Astorath and Lemartes.

Older projects.

I figured I might as well paint some of my Blood Angels while thinking of how to properly apply the hazard stripes on my Iron Warriors. Which is why currently there are so many models on my table.

It's still fun to paint the Death Company even though each of them takes a really long time.

Painting & Projects - Slower than expected.

In between assignments and painting, I managed to get quite a lot done throughout the weekend. And seriously though, painting the trims are a real pain, but it's definitely worth it.

It looks like I've accidentally made the power armoured guys brighter than expected, but it's not a problem, they'll look the same once I'm done with them.

Painting the armour trims took me about 2 days, I won't be doing this army for Iron Painter for sure, but I'll be churning out more Iron Warriors like no tomorrow.

I've already decided what I want to do for my mid year and end year project.

So, for 2012:

January till June: Iron Warriors and a little bit of Blood Angels, a full Panzerkompanie for my Flames of War collection.

July till October: Eldar and a little bit of Orks

September till December: Imperial Guard. I'll be focusing on a full on Cadian army with Respirators and I'll most definitely be using lots of Forge World stuff.

If any of the projects were done sooner than planned, I'll push everything a little earlier so I can build more stuff for my other armies.

I'll be posting in a few more days, most definitely with the finished squad.

Assembling - Iron style!

I assembled most of them during Chinese New Year when I was back in Penang.

I realized that I needed 1 full day to base my stuff, coz the super glue tends to seep into the cork and dry out very slowly, but it doesn't matter, I've waited hours for them to dry.

I also got around to spraying them white. Gonna be airbrushing them tomorrow if I have the time. It seems that these few days I'm gonna be really busy with classes and assignments.

Iron Within!

Talk about funny. Today I got my Forge World delivery and here's a picture of the Land Raider doors I got for myself.

I'm gonna have to call Forge World and ask them to send me the right piece, and the Iron Warriors Dreadnought that I ordered arrived without it's base. Hopefully they'll get the missing stuffs to me ASAP.

Also, I've been on the painting spree lately. The Dreadnought was pretty much done since the last time, but I think I can give it a little extra effort to make it look better.

The Terminators were finished within 3 days, I was aiming for 2 days, but I kinda got distracted with games and so on.

Well, at least they're finished. Now I gotta move on to the massed infantry.

Project: Iron Warriors and Flames of War

I'm back at my home town for the holidays which means I won't be able to get much done. But I've brought back 11 Chaos Space Marines and a Chaos Vindicator to work on.

Before I left my apartment, I took some pictures that are blog worthy. These are what I've been working on recently.

A magnetized Iron Warriors Dreadnought. I even did a little extra and magnetized the head so it's rotatable.

As you can see it's pretty much still in progress, not done with some of the smaller details yet. But for the first time ever, it's the brightest I've ever painted for any model/army I have. Though, the silver is actually airbrushed.

I'm still wondering if the basing colour works, I'm out of ideas for now, which is why I used dark brown for the basing.

Also, I need to work on my Panzergranadier platoon. Even though Bagration starts in May, I'd rather finish them way ahead of time just so I don't have to rush.

I'll be working on more infantry models for my Iron Warriors.
