Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind

Bought this tank about a couple of weeks back when Hobby HQ had a sale, it was going for about RM 29. So I thought to myself, why not try it out? Since it's of a different brand that I'm not familiar with, I might as well experiment on this tank.

After assembling, I did the standard late war camo colours. I was masking the tracks because I wanted to try using the winter whitewash camouflage on this tank.

The kit had a few issues. most are mainly the instruction issues and the lack of indication of where the decals should go.

In the end, I kinda over did the weathering, but it still turned out kinda alright. One thing I really like though, is that the mud effect on the tracks do look somewhat good.

Leopard 2A4

I started on this tank yesterday, and I managed to finish it today. It's a kit from this brand called Hobby Boss. Aside for some wrong instructions, the quality of this kit is quite good. I kinda wished that they added some history to the tank I'm painting, all I know is that this is the Leapord 2 A4, and I'm painting it in NATO colours.

Assembly was fairly easy. Working on the camo is a real nightmare. I had to make sure the more fragile parts are safe when I mask the tank to spray it's camo colours.

I kinda forgot to take more pictures as I was quite into this tank.

Anyways, here are the completed shots.

Flames of War - M4A1 76mm Sherman with winter camouflage

After having these tanks for months, I've decided to paint them to what I've been wanting to go for since the conception of this idea. Just because I saw the picture of these tanks in the catalogue, I knew I had to try and paint them.

So I did the standard paint job.

And somehow I was bold enough and pulled off the camo that I wanted.

The keys are in there for scale reference.

I'm quite pleased with the results and I'll continue building up the entire army.

M109A6 Paladin

Due to my fickle nature, I decided to change the colour scheme of my Eldar force, so while planning for that, I ended up building and painting another tank instead.

After a flurry of German tanks, I figured that I would do a modern US tank, so I picked up this kit from Tamiya and finished it within a couple of days.

You can't really go on without looking at the tank firing, so here's the video.

Here it is after assembly.

And here it is completed. I realized that the tank in real world, is not as weathered as what I've done, but I guess for this scale, if it's not weathered, it will look fake, so I went to town with it. I used 4 different weathering powders, where the first 2 wasn't that obvious. It's kinda tricky since it's in the desert and the weathering can't be too dark.

Panzerspahwagen

And suddenly, I finished another vehicle, this time, it's the Panzerspahwagen. Took me a day to assemble, and another day to paint, it wasn't that difficult, and it was quite fun too.

Also, one of the local hobby stores had a big sale, so I got myself 2 more German tanks. Probably gonna work on them once I'm done with my Wraithknight.

Stug III Ausf. G

It took me about 2 days to start and finish this tank, I honestly thought I'd take longer since I'm being a little distracted recently.

Anyway, here is the Stug that I've just finished.

I think I'll be focusing on the Wraithknight for now, gotta finish my Dark Eldar soon.

Consolidating the tanks.

After learning from Carl on how to get good images, I finally managed to take better pictures, I'm still in the progress of improving it, but I guess this is better than the previous ones I took.

Also, I'll be putting a brief description of the tanks along with their pictures.

Merkava Mk.3 Baz with Nochri Dalet Mine Roller System

And so I've started working on a very beautiful looking tank. In my opinion, I'm not experienced enough for this brand. The bits tend to fly all over the place and break apart when I attempt to remove some small bits. The fitting isn't very good either, but I managed.

Assembly took me roughly 4 days, and the painting was about 2 days, this is quite the difficult kit to work on.

Here are some progress shots.

I had to measure and cut the metal plates for the tank markings.

The basecoat was a mix of GW's Baneblade Brown, Eshin Grey, and Deathworld Green. I kinda used my instincts on this one since Tamiya doesn't sell the exact colour.

I'm still learning how to adjust the lights for a good photo, but here are all of the pictures I've taken once I'm done.

I think I should stick with Tamiya tanks for now... Thanks for reading!
