Alpha Legion, Chaos Terminators are good...

Back! After a long time of busy busy days and nights. I've been painting slow for the past few days, but 2 nights ago I was speeding up my progress to finish these Chaos Terminators.

I had so much fun assembling them as they seriously look AWESOME! I would recommend the Chaos Terminator Squad kit for any chaos players out there. Whether you're a beginner or not, this box set will make you love chaos even more!

I'm practicing more on weathering effects. I'll probably need to improve more on that part. I like the heavy flamer here!

Another Chaos Terminator, this guy has the Chain Fist. He grinded a Land Raider today!

I'm practicing on glowing effects now, and it seems to work well. Gonna have to make all the other marines have glowing eyes too!

This guy here just has the normal set up, I love having a Power Fist just in case. Not to mention, it looks awesome too!

I use them as Chaos Terminator Champions in my army. They serve their purpose as bait and of course, killers too.

I've also recently painted up a few more guys for the army. One more Autocannon Iron Warrior and another Meltagun guy.

Man, gotta get more of those Havocs box sets. I'm probably gonna buy another box of Chaos Terminators too. Having said that, I need more Chaos Space Marines! There just ain't enough...

How to get a steady hand at painting...

Hi there, I've been missing in action for a long time, primarily due to the fact that I've been busy with club activities since I'm done with the semester. I have some painted stuff, but I'll post them some other time.

A hand that has tremors are a painter's worst nightmare. Everyone's hand vibrates to a certain degree, just a matter of how intense it is...

A few months ago, I experienced a terrible bout of hand tremors. I couldn't do any free hand, especially when it comes to drawing checks on my Orks. I've went to search online on what's going on and what I can do to minimize it.

Here's what I found.

Hand tremors are caused by stress, caffeine, too much alcohol consumption, lack of sleep, lack of blood sugar, and lack of nutrition.

Sometimes, staying up late to paint isn't a very good idea, especially when you're missing sleep. Though I feel like I'm possessed or something whenever I have a long sitting during a painting session, my hands seem fine maybe because of the amount of focus I'm putting in. But when I start to realize that my back hurts, the concentration drops, and with that I will tell myself to go sleep.

Painting releases stress, unless you're having troubles with your minis or paints. Though I think that extreme stress that frustrates the mind will cause your body to be restless, so do take a little break, take a deep breath, lie down, and continue on when you're calm.

One thing that makes my hand tremor the most is when I drink caffeinated drinks a few hours before I paint. I drink Coke, Pepsi or root beer once in a while, that's when I notice my hands tremor a lot. I never drink coffee, though I noticed that my father who drinks like 6-7 cups of coffee a day has serious hand tremors (I notice it when we have dinner and I stare at his hands). Not like he paints, he loves coffee, so I'll let him be.

If you love beer, I'm not gonna stop you, but it is known that excessive intake of alcohol causes hand tremors. It only applies if you had "too much".

Well, a way to prevent yourself from having hand tremors is getting enough rest, relax, or go take a nap. Though I've heard from a friend that taking a teaspoon of peanut butter before you paint will give you a steady hand. I'm not sure about that, but I think I will just give it a go.

Also, do eat properly and that will ensure that your body has all the nutrition it needs. I'm no doctor, so if you need further advice, go see one.

If you have a method that proves true, besides from the putting your hands together when painting, do let me know, I would like to hear...

Legio Malaysia's Birthday Tourney and Painting Comp

Man, today was fun! It was the Legio's first birthday celebration that we all expected since May. There was the Combat Patrol Tournament and the Golden Kris painting competition.

I brought my Alpha Legion's Chaos Terminator Lord to the competition for Single Model Category, my Ork Nobz mob for the Unit Category and my Ork Battlewagon for the Large Model/Vehicle Category since my Hive Tyrant looks unfinished.

Enough talk, here are some of the many pictures I took.

Eldrad Ulthuan looks amazing, it's the model that won the Golden Kris and the first place in the Single Model Category.

The Banshees won first place in the Unit Category followed by the Plaguebearers and my Ork Nobz which got third. The Banshees were my favourite.

Jeff brought some of his miniatures for display, since he is the judge, his miniatures aren't in the competition.

Subahan's Demon Prince won third place for the Large Model/Vehicles Category.

Azlan's Thousand Sons Rhino got second place! My Battlewagon didn't stand a chance.

Haha, I got third for the Unit Category with my Ork Nobz.

Joe's Plaguebearers were awesome and he won second place! He says it's because of his base. :P

Khairul won first place yet again for his Howling Banshees!

Third place for Large Model goes to Subahan! His Demon Prince is mean!

Second place for this category went to Azlan's Thousand Sons Rhino, he had to leave early, so Jeff pretended as if Azlan was there.

First place went to this guy's Avatar of Khaine.

Khairul won the People's Choice Award for his Eldrad Ulthuan.

Haha, this guy is the overall winner and he got the Golden Kris!

All in all, I've learnt a lot today. I spent a lot of time studying the paintings of my competitors, though I can say that I've seen lots of talents at both painting and gaming today.
